Veteran actress Jayanthi’s death rumours started doing the rounds after she complained of having difficulties in breathing on Monday morning. Reportedly, she was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. Now as the news of her death surfaced online, the actress’ family denied the reports and clarified that Jayanthi is alive and on the path to recovery. The spokesperson for the family confirmed the news to us.

Moreover, Sakshi.com quoted Jayanthi's son as telling the media, "There is no truth in the news of Jayanti's death in social media. Some TV channels reported that she was dead which is untrue as they were confused regarding her health.”

Though her condition was said to be critical on Monday, she was shifted out of the ICU. An Indian Express report quoted Jayanthi's son as informing a Kannada news channel, "She has been suffering from chronic asthma for a long time. When there was some issue with her breathing, the doctors advised to immediately hospitalise her."

The South Indian actress is credited to have acted in more than 500 films including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Marathi movies apart from Kannada. She was cited as the "most bold and beautiful" actress of Kannada cinema by the media outlets.
