Veteran actor and writer Kader Khan, who worked in more than 300 films, passed away on Tuesday morning in Canada.
Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz Khan confirmed the news.
He said, “Yes, my dad has left us this morning. He was unwell from last few months and in the hospital from last few days. We tried everything we could, but it was time. He was a very loving man and he loved everyone who was a part of his life.”
After the 81-year-old actor developed breathing problems, doctors reportedly transferred him from a regular ventilator to BiPAP ventilator.
Khan, who lived in Canada with his son Sarfaraz and daughter-in-law, underwent a knee surgery last year, which went wrong, leaving the actor unable to walk properly.
Apart from being an actor, Kader Khan has also written dialogues for over 250 films.
The actor has worked with several a-list actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Rishi Kapoor and others, who took to social media and expressed grief on Kader Khan's demise.

The Accidental Prime Minister actor, Anupam Kher, on the other hand, shared a heartfelt message on his Twitter.
He wrote, "#KaderKhan Saab was one of the finest actors of our country. It was a joy and a learning experience to be on the sets with him. His improvisational skills were phenomenal. His humour was eternal and original. He was a wonderful writer. We will miss him & his brilliance."
"An actor and a writer who defined a generation.. You’ve left a void in the industry that cannot be filled..RIP #KaderKhan.. My heartfelt prayers to his family," wrote actor Arjun Kapoor.
Actor Rishi Kapoor who has worked with Kader Khan on several projects has a close relationship with the vaeteran actor. The Mulk actor wished Kader Khan heaven.
He wrote, "R I P. Kadar bhai Khan sahab! Bahut lamba rishta tha aapka hum sab Kapoors ke saath. Bahut kaam kiya bahut seekha aapse. Jannat Naseeb ho aapko. Ameen."
Varun Dhawan while mourning the demise of "one of his inspirations" erote, "RIP #KaderKhan saab. One of my inspirations and a truly iconic actor, writer and stage artists. His contribution to my fathers cinema was limitless just like his talent. You will truly be missed by everyone."
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar took to Twitter and shared apicture of himself with Kader Khan and captioned it, "Sad to hear the demise of the Versatile Writer,Actor,Comedian Kader Khan.He made us laugh and cry at the same time.He entertained us with his punchful dialogues.God bless his http://soul.RIP Sir"
Producer-writer-filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who had the "privelege" of working with the actor, mourned his death.
