Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding will clash with brother Harshvardhan Kapoor's Bhavesh Joshi Superhero on June 1
Girl power is gonna take over box office when Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania starrer 'Veere Di Wedding' hits theatres.
It's unlike the usual Bollywood film and focusses on four ladies who want to live their life on their terms. The cuss words and abusive language can be heard in the promos of the film as well and raised many eyebrows wondering how did Central Board of Film Certification allowed it in the trailer. On Tuesday, Jeetendra and Anil Kapoor were also a part of the censor certification of the film as their daughters Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor have produced the film. During the screening of Veere Di Wedding, while many members of CBFC objected to the actresses using cuss words in the film, veterean actors Anil and Jeetendra convinced that this is part of youth lingo.
According to BollywoodLife sources, “Both Jeetendra and Anil argued heatedly in favour of the colourful language spoken in the film. They are convinced that today’s youngsters speak that foul lurid leery language. Some panel members objected. But finally, the board members agreed to let the language remain intact and gave the film an ‘A’ certificate.” Earlier there were reports of how Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor are ready to release the film with an A certficate but do not want the dialogues to be toned or chopped out the Censor Board.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film is produced by Rhea Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.Veere Di Wedding is going to be Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's first release post marriage to Anand Ahuja and Kareena Kapoor Khan's comeback to movies after two year long maternity break. Interestingly, the film is also lock horns again with Harshvardhan Kapoor’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero at the box office on June 1.
