Veere Di Wedding box office: Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan & Swara Bhasker film crosses Rs 60 crore mark in 8 days

This seems to be the best birthday ever for Sonam Kapoor. The actress is not just celebrating her 33rd birthday with husband Anand Ahuja and friends in London, her first release post marriage is also doing fantastic at the box office also calls in for double celebration. 'Veere Di Wedding' which released last Friday continues to be unstoppable at the start of Week 2 as well. Despite competition from Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' and Hollywood release 'Jurrasic World: The Fallen Kingdom', Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania's film remains steady at the ticket window.

The film has earned Rs 3.37 crore on Friday and stands tall with Rs 60.33 crore at the box office. In spite of no male superstar in the film and an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board, 'Veere Di Wedding' continues to enjoy good word of mouth publicity and is expected to earn over Rs 70 crore in the second week of its release. 

Not just the third highest opener of 2018, Veere Di Wedding is also the seventh highest grosser of 2018 after Padmaavat, Baaghi 2, Raazi, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid and Pad Man.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Veere Di Wedding also features Shikha Talsania, Sumeet Vyas and Vishwas Kini in important roles. Produced by Rhea Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their respective banners, Veere Di Wedding is expected to become the third women-centric film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark after Kangana Ranaut's 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and Alia Bhatt's 'Raazi'.
