Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt share a wonderful onscreen camaraderie, considering they’ve delivered hit films like Student of The Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, together. Speculations have been rife for a while that filmmaker Karan Johar was keen to cash in on their chemistry with his next magnum opus, Shiddat. Apparently, Karan also brought Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi onboard for the film.

However, now in a shocking development, the film’s existence has come into question. When asked about the film during the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2017 in Mumbai on Friday, both Varun and Alia denied the reports saying they have no idea of any such film. "Which movie? Who told you that? We don't know any such movie exists" said Varun. Moreover, Alia added, "Who told you that? I don't know about such movie."

Earlier, it was reported that Varun and Aditya will be seen playing brothers with a tense relationship while Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi will reprise the role of their parents. Written by Gulab Gullati and Abhishek Varman, the film was said to be set against the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition period.

Well, we wonder if the project is indeed shelved or the lead actors are just trying to not reveal anything about the film as of yet.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun has recently wrapped up Shoojit Sircar's October and will next be seen in Yash Raj Films’ Sui Dhaaga. Alia, on the other hand, has her schedule full with Raazi, Gully Boy and Brahmastra.
