When Indra Kumar decided to revisit one of his hit comedy franchises (Dhamaal) for the third time, he was clear that he wanted to make it bigger than the earlier instalments. Whether it’s the heavyweight ensemble that includes Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit-Nene along with the principal cast comprising  Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaaferi, or the film’s treatment, Total Dhamaal is expected to be an extravaganza.

A source tells us, “It was Ajay’s idea, who is also co-producing the film, to use a lot of VFX and make it look more stylised. The actor got his own company, NY VFXWAALA, on board to work on the storyboard.” The source adds, “Indra has shot a majority of the film on the green screen. Over 60 per cent of the movie will involve CGI work and the makers are spending a whopping  Rs 12 crore for the same. The special effects team is working relentlessly to get the desired results.” There’s enough pre-release buzz about the film due to the cast and the producers are expecting a good return on their money.

Ajay’s company has previously won a National Award for the special effects in his last directorial venture Shivaay. Despite repeated attempts, Indra was unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
