Too early for a biopic, says Anu Malik

Aamir Khan plays a music composer and judge of a musical reality TV show in Secret Superstar. Naturally, there is speculation if the character is based on Anu Malik. This was just a character in a film. Ask Anu what he thinks about being characterised on screen through a biopic and he says, “It’s too early for that. I’d want a biopic when I have seen it all and done it all,” he says.

His choice of director to helm it would be someone who has seen his world from close quarters. “But one director who has caught my attention is Rajkumar Hirani. Not only is he one of the nicest human beings but also a great filmmaker,” he adds. About whom he would like to see playing him on the screen, he is not very sure, “I adore almost every actor in the industry. So I can’t take one name. Shah Rukh Khan with Baazigar, Salman Khan with Judwaa and Aamir with Akele Hum Akele Tum or Ishq have all taken my music to another level by starring in those films. Now, Varun Dhawan took it to another level with Judwaa 2.”

Anu has composed music for many films starring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, and when it comes to someone playing him on the big screen, they are obviously on his wish list.
