After a disappointing beginning for Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim's The Sky Is Pink, the movie barely made it past first Saturday too. It had minted Rs. 2.50 crore on day one, which was a poor opening for any Priyanka Chopra film.
Post that, the Saturday collections of The Sky Is Pink only showed growth of 60% rather than doubling up. The Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf starrer earned Rs. 4 crore on Saturday, and it expected to grow very little even on Sunday.
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Total - 6,50,00,000 apprx
The Sky Is Pink shows similar growth to the earlier release of the year - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Starring Sonam Kapoor in a lesbian relationship, with Anil Kapoor playing her father, and Rajkummar Rao as her friend, the movie also aimed at urban family audience as their target audiences.
The Sky Is Pink, which is already facing competition from Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff's WAR and Joaquin Phoenix's Joker, needs to stay steady over the weekdays to have a longer run at the Box Office. The movie is all set to face competition from Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 4, but that is after two weeks. Saif Ali Khan starrer Laal Kaptaan releases on the coming Friday and that movie could be a sleeper hit depending on the story and its appeal with audiences.
