The reprised version of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', titled 'The Jawaani Song', is here, and Tiger Shroff, like always, steals the show with his smoother-than-butter moves
'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', featuring the charming actor Randhir Kapoor and Jaya Bahadhuri, is a song which is holy. In the song, Randhir tries to woo Jaya by singing praises for her and warning her at the same time. The best part about the whole song was Kishore Kumar, who created his usual magic by giving music to the crazy song.
Forget recreating, even the thought of touching this song is scary. The makers of Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria and Aditya Seal starrer 'Student Of The Year 2', however, dared to not only touch the song but recreate it. However, they have changed most of the lyrics of the song.
The very fact that the lyrics aren't the same but the tune is, makes the song an interesting watch. The music still grips you. In fact there is a moment in the song when the makers have retained the original version, and that bit done by these makers is quite a cool surprise.
'The Jawaani Song' is actually a couple dance competition between Tiger Shroff-Tara Sutaria and Anaya Panday-Aditya Seal. Of course both the couples throw off some epic dance moves along with the background dancers, jumping from place-to-place. However Tiger Shroff, who is already known for his dance, makes it difficult for us to move our eyes away from his smooth dancing. He actually makes the tough steps look effortless.
The sets for the song, which should have been rather impressive, is however a dissapointment. There are moments when Tiger Shroff looks like he's on a TV show, and in order to show the troupe in a uniform, the makers have created a black background which has random words and figures posted on them.
Coming to the costumes, they are the least of concern, since they do not put you off throughout the song. Although there could be major improvements in school uniforms, Ananya Panday and especially Tara Sutaria are a stunner in golden dress.
The biggest takeaway from the song, of course, is its music, which stays with you much after the song is even over. Of course, Tiger Shroff's dance is something which boys and girls both would would be impressed by.

The song is just a teaser. There is in fact quite a possibility that Hollywood star aka 'Men In Black' actor Will Smith might be part of the full song, and a surprise we were waiting for. Directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions along with Fox Star Studios, 'Student Of The Year 2' is slated to release on May 10 this year.
