Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar to shoot 'Womaniya' in UP

Earlier this year, it was reported that Taapsee Pannu will play a shooter in Womaniya, a film based on two real-life women professional shooters who became successful against all odds.

Later, news had it that Kriti Sanon would join Taapsee in the film to be helmed by debutant director, Tushar Hiranandani. Meanwhile, Kriti opted out and Bhumi Pednekar was signed on instead. While there hasn’t been much development on the movie, we hear that it is slated to go on floors in January.

“The film will be shot in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. Taapsee and Bhumi will be perfecting the local dialect as the story is set in rural UP. The shoot has been scheduled for January because the winter environment in the state will enhance the narrative.” The film’s co-producer Anurag Kashyap doubles up as its creative director.
