Veere Di Wedding that stars Kareena Kapoor-Khan, Sonam K Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in the leads, has received a lot of praise and has become the third highest Bollywood grosser on an opening weekend in 2018.

The movie, one of mainstream Bollywood’s few female-centric movies, has received a lot of praise for the performances of the actors.

Yet, there have been trolls who have not appreciated the movie because it has women openly discussing sex, has ladies cussing on screen, and even has a masturbation scene – the last of which has prompted trolls to lash out in numbers at Swara.

The same tweet has been shared by a number of people, which says, “Hey @ReallySwara just watched #VeerDiWedding with my grandmother. We got embarrassed when the masturabation scene came on screen. as we came out of the theatre my grandmother said "I'm Hindustan and I am ashamed of #VeerDiWedding (sic)"

The tweet has been shared by a number of trolls, prompting a number of users to ask why ‘sanskari’ people are taking their grandmothers for a movie that spoke of an adult theme even during its promos.

However, the funniest tweet came  from user Joy Das, who said, “For some weird reasons, people who can’t spell “Masturbation” are going to watch #VeereDiWedding with their Grandmothers and want answers from @ReallySwara (sic).”

Another user, Karthik said, "For some inexplicable reason, there seems to be a tremendous demand for Veere Di Wedding among Indian grandmothers, regardless of their alleged, consistent (word-to-word consistent!) opinion after the film."

To which, Swara replied, “Looks like a certain IT cell sponsored the tickets- or definitely the tweets!!!!”

Earlier, Swara, along with Sonam and Kareena had expressed shock over the Kathua gang rape and murder, and the gang-rape in Unnao. The actors, along with several others in B-Town held placards, saying, “I am Hindustan. I am ashamed.”
