Kangana Ranaut took to her social media pages and shared a video in which she lashed out at the film industry. She said that Bollywood treated Sushant Singh Rajput unfairly. The Kai Po Che actor's death by suicide shocked the whole nation and Kangana said that he didn't get his due even after delivering incredible performances and box office success. The actor even said Chhichhore deserved all accolades and not Gully Boy during 2019 award season.

Kangana is heard saying in the video, "How can a person who had scored a scholarship to Stanford University be mentally weak? Why wasn't his debut performance in Kai Po Che acknowledged? Why did a terrible film like Gully Boy win all the awards when a spectacular movie like Chhichhore was ignored?" Kangana also spoke about several blind items penned by media outlets about Sushant wherein he was allegedly called 'psychotic'.

The Manikarnika actor further said, "Why are these people trying to put these ideas in my head? Was (Sushant’s death) a suicide or a planned murder? Sushant's only fault is that he believed them when they called him 'worthless'. He didn’t remember what his mother told him. It is up to us now to decide who will write the history."
