'Super human being': Netizens laud Salman Khan as superstar arranges 500 free oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients

In his Instagram post, Salman revealed that the concentrators will be given free of cost to those in need.

As Indians continue to struggle to find medical aid amid the second wave of COVID-19 and resort to social media to seek help through SOS messages requesting ordinary citizens to help them find hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, prescribed medicines and injections for those affected with the virus, several Bollywood celebrities have come forward to contribute towards India's fight against the virus and organised fundraisers, distributed rations kits and some have even managed to arrange oxygen concentrators for hospitals running short of it.

in fact, many film and television celebrities have taken to their social media handles to share vital information about coronavirus including helpline numbers, home food services, and details of vaccination centres among others things. 

Among the many celebrities is actor Salman Khan, known for his philanthropic work via his foundation being Human, who has been doing his bit in India's fight against the virus. 

On Wednesday evening, Salman took to his Instagram to share that he along with politicians Baba Siddique and Zeeshan Siddique has arranged 500 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients.

In his Instagram post, Salman revealed that the concentrators will be given free of cost to those in need and one could call the helpline number mentioned in his post or tag/DM him to get it. He also urged that the person taking the concentrator return it once they are done using it.

Alongside a photo of the concentrators packed to be distributed, Salman Khan wrote, "Our first lot of 500 oxygen concentrators have reached Mumbai. Covid positive patients who need these oxygen concentrators for an emergency situation can call us on 8451869785. Or you can tag/DM me. We will be giving these concentrators for free, pls return them once done using."

As soon as Salman Khan shared the post, his fans and followers took to the comments section to laud the actor for all the effort he has been putting and the COVID relief work he has been doing ever since the outbreak of the pandemic.

"Aise hi nahi hai mega star apne bhaijaan the golden heart," wrote a user. "Man with Golden Heart," wrote another user. "Gareebo Ka Aaan Baan Shaan Megastar Salman Khan," commented another Instagram user. "The super super human being," hailed yet another user. 

On the work front, Salman Khan's 'Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai' hit theatres and released on OTT -on the same day, May 13.  

Meanwhile, India reported 2,76,070 new COVID-19 cases and 3,874 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare`s data on Thursday. As many as 3,69,077 discharges have been made in the last 24 hours, which is more than the daily cases reported. The cumulative caseload stands at 2,57,72,400, including 2,23,55,440 recoveries, 31,29,878 active cases and 2,87,122 deaths.
