As the state of Gujarat is gearing up for festivities of Navratari and nine nights of Dandiya and dancing, Sunny Leone's condom ad on the hoarding in the city of Surat hurts the religious sentiments of the locals.

Sunny is the brand ambassador of Manforce condoms and the hoardings read  ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ which literally translates to ‘This Navratri, play but with love.’ This hasn't gone down well by the Surat based group which has drawn protests against these ads, claiming it hurts Hindu sentiments. “The message in Gujarati on the hoarding reads ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ – this Navratri, play but with love. The insinuation on the hoardings from a condom brand insults the religious sentiments of Hindus,” said Narendra Chaudhary, a businessman who serves as the group’s leader told TOI. He added saying, “This cannot be tolerated and our protests will get stronger if these hoardings are not removed immediately. Protests are necessary to deter others from trying something similar again in future.”

Sunny Leone can't keep away from controversies. The actress' item song 'Trippy Trippy' in Sanjay Dutt's comeback film 'Bhoomi' has also been trimmed down by Central Film Certification Board of India. As the film hits theatres this Friday, Sunny fans will only get to see only those bits of the song which we have already watched on television.
