'Student Of The Year 2' Box Office Collection Day 5: Tiger Shroff, Ananya, Tara's film yet to cross Rs 50-crore mark

Tiger Shroff, debutantes Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student of the Year 2 released on a working Friday. The movie had a good weekend despite IPL matches and election period. Tiger Shroff fans especially came out in huge numbers to show support for their icon.

However neither Tiger Shroff's stardom nor newcomers Ananya Panday or Tara Sutaria's glamour could save Student of the Year 2 on Monday. After collecting Rs. 12.06 on Friday, Rs. 14.02 crore on Saturday and Rs. 12.75 crore on Sunday, the movie managed to mint only Rs. 5.52 crore on Monday.

The film failed the Monday litmus test miserably with 54.23% decline in the collections. The movie has now collected Rs. 5.02 crore on Tuesday. Surprisingly despite expecting a major drop post Monday, the movie has managed to stay afloat.

According to Box Office India, the Punit Malhotra directorial is not performing well in East Punjab, Delhi and South India. However the rest of the country is doing average business which is helping the film keep its hold at the Box Office for a little while longer. The movie is expected to do well today.

Student of the Year 2 is expected to cross Rs. 50-crore mark today. The movie needs to pick up in order to be declared at least a hit. Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria are set to face competition from Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh since their movie De De Pyaar De also releases this Friday i.e. on May 17.
