Sridevi's final journey: Amitabh Bachchan shares his conversation with Javed Akhar at the funeral

India bid adieu to its first female superstar Sridevi this afternoon. The 54 year old actress breathed her last on February 24th and since then fans and film fraternity has been in a state of shock. No one is able to accept that Bollywood's beloved Chandni is no more.

India bid adieu to its first female superstar Sridevi this afternoon. The 54 year old actress breathed her last on February 24th and since then fans and film fraternity has been in a state of shock. No one is able to accept that Bollywood's beloved Chandni is no more. 

During her final journey, we saw many Bollywood and south celebs coming and paying their last respects to the actress who entertained audience for fifty years at the movies. Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan to Katrina Kaif, b-town is mourning the loss of the superstar. Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to share a shayari, Javed Akhtar narrated to him at the funeral. These beautiful words sum up the emotions which we all are going through, thinking about her innocent and vulnerable face and the beautiful 'lamhe' of Sridevi on the big screen.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Twitter,  "रहने को सदा देहर में आता नहीं कोई, तुम जैसे गये ऐसे भी जाता नहीं कोई"~ कैफ़ि आज़मी.....देहर - means .. the world ....Javed Akhtar narrated this sher to me at funeral of Sridevi .. said it was written at time of Guru Dutt demise ; but so appropriate for today .."

Earlier, Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor also shared his statement from the official Twitter handle of Sridevi. While he expressed how the loss of his beloved wife is inexplicable for him and their daughters, he also thanked his family, friends, fans and well-wishers  for their love and support. He also requested everyone to respect their need for privacy to mourn her demise.  He also stated that his only concern at the moment is to protect his daughters Janhvi and Khushi and find a way to move forward without his wife. He concludes with the lines, "Rest in peace, my live. Our lives will never be the same again."
