Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh, who was last seen in Anushka Sharma-starrer Phillauri, is all set to feature in his next Bollywood film, which is based on the life of ace hockey player, Sandeep Singh. The film has been titled, Soorma.

The 33-year-old singer-turned-actor shared the official poster of the movie on his official Twitter handle and wrote, "A hockey stick and a bullet...One gave direction to his life while the other changed it forever! #SOORMA - The greatest comeback story ever! 29th June @sonypicsprodns @taapsee @Imangadbedi @Flicker_Singh @SnehaRajani @IChitrangda @shaadesh @thecsfilms”

In the poster, Diljit is looking aggressive with a hockey stick player and seems ready to take on the rival team. This image is juxtaposed with another image of him, where he is seen sitting in a wheelchair. Well, looking at the poster, we cannot help but be impressed with Diljit’s transformation and fierce look.

Sandeep Singh is one of India's greatest drag flickers, and ex-captain of the Indian National Team. He was seriously injured in 2006 after being hit by an accidental gunshot in a train, while on his way to join the national team, set to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later. Sandeep was almost paralysed and was on the wheel chair for two years, but he not only recovered from that serious injury, but also made his way again in the team.

Directed by Shaad Ali, the biopic will showcase the player’s life and will feature Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. Soorma is slated hit the theatres on June 29, 2018.
