BMC had filed a complaint against Sonu and his wife for allegedly having made unauthorized changes to Juhu's Shakti Sagar Building without permission.
In an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court on Wednesday by Mumbai civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Sonu Sood was called a 'habitual offender' for allegedly illegally converting a residential building into a hotel.
Now, in an interview with ABP Live, Sonu reacted to the same and said, "I respect the BMC, who have made our Mumbai 'amazing'. I have followed all the rules from my side and if there is a scope for improvement, I will try to correct it. I have filed a petition for the case in court. I will sincerely follow the instructions given by the court and walk on the same path. I will obey all laws and regulations."
The affidavit was filed in response to the actor's petition filed last week. For the uninformed, a complaint was filed against Sonu and his wife Sonali Sood for allegedly having made unauthorized changes to Juhu's Shakti Sagar Building without the BMC's permission.
In his interview, Sonu also spoke about his recent meeting with Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and said that it was not about the allegations of illegal construction levelled against him.
He said, "It was just a normal meeting. We didn't talk about my dispute with BMC during our conversation."
As for the affidavit, it read, "The appellant is a habitual offender and wants to enjoy the commercial proceeds of the unauthorised work and therefore once again started reconstructing the demolished portion to make it operational as a hotel albeit illegally and without permission from the License department."
Meanwhile, Sonu had replied to the complaint filed by BMC stating, "I have already taken approval for the change of user from the BMC. It was subject to the approval of the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA). This permission hasn`t come due to Covid-19. There are no irregularities. I always abide by the law. This hotel was used to house Covid-19 warriors during the pandemic. If the permission doesn`t come, I will restore it to a residential structure. I am appealing against the complaint in the Bombay High Court."
