After Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh & Shahid Kapoor strarrer 'Padmaavat' and Akshay Kumar's 'Pad Man', this Friday's release 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' has become the third best opener of 2018.
Film starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh opened to good start and has earned a whopping 6.42 crores on it's opening day.
Taran Adarsh confirmed the figues on Twitter and also believes the biz will only improve in the coming days. The film anyway was expected to be stronger at the box officeas compared to Sonakshi Sinha-Diljit Dosanjh starrer, Welcome To New York. 'Sonu Ke Titu…' had a really good buzz around it for the whole week what with interesting promo and superhit music album as well. Looks like the young crowd at movies is keen to watch a story of bride vs best friend which has worked with the audience. As just like filmmaker Luv Ranjan's previous film Pyar Ka Punchnama, this film also understands the youth of today.
Boxoffice can be most unpredictable, but that’s the beauty of this business... No A-list stars... Tongue-twister title... No film franchise... No festival/holiday release... Yet, BO is smiling on #SonuKeTituKiSweety... #RealityCheck... #WakeUpCall... #SKTKS

DNA After Hrs review gave it 3.5 stars and reads "The youth will connect with it and the ending will take you by surprise. One star only for the climax which combines emotion, drama and humour perfectly. A very rare instance to happen in a Bollywood film, watch the film only for that if nothing"
