At a time when the entertainment industry is going through a digital revolution of sorts — with several web series and even movies being planned only for OTT platforms — most Bollywood actors are shying away from venturing online. Although a few stars have jumped on the bandwagon, the younger lot of actors haven’t shown any interest. Sidharth Malhotra is one of those who doesn’t want to take up any digital project yet.

Stating that he’s not looking at working in the online space, he explains, “I’m selfishly ambitious to be on 70mm. I want to do bigger and better films, do different content-based projects and build an equity for myself. I came to Mumbai to become a Hindi film actor and not divert from this. It’s not creatively attractive to me, right now.”

Conceding that he has ‘not been offered anything’ on the web space anyway, Sid reasons, “I’m already getting to play diverse characters in films, I would like that to continue. Ittefaq could be a web series. This character I played in the film, can be a character of The Night Of. Maybe, we could have done series of it. So why would I go to a digital team, if I get to play such interesting characters in movies.”
