Who could have imagined a connection between Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez's Friday release 'A Gentleman' and the violence in the state of Haryana and Punjab following the verdict on Gurmeet Ram Rahim's rape case. But the actor got subjected to trolls when in quest to promote his film, he tweeted to the people of Haryana saying, " Hope you can see our film soon."
To all the people of Haryana , please stay safe. Hope you can see our film soon #Agentleman #PeaceAndLove

This tweet invited obscene comments for the actor, commenting on his ignorance and how Bollywood is only concerned about promoting their film even when people are dying and law and order situation has gone for a toss in the state of Punjab and Haryana.

Did you seriously just try to plug a film via this disaster? Play it back in your head and tell me it wasn't an idiotic thing to do.

Obviously the actor didn't need a controversy on the day of his film 'A Gentleman' releases. Realising the seriousness of the matter, he soon expressed his concern about the situation in the two states and even wrote, " To people who are commenting on my morning tweets, they were made before the verdict!"
Its really sad to see the situation worsen since morning and see people in Punjab and Haryana https://t.co/u8TeWwEaW0 and prayers.
