Comic caper Fukrey Returns has just released. The film’s music had Shree D and hip hop star IshQ Bector collaborating for the heartwarming song, Raina. Before this, the duo gave the title track of Besharam, an out-and-out party song, unlike the romantic track in the latest release starring Ali Fazal and Richa Chadda. However, the buzz is that Shree D wasn’t always meant to render the song. A source says that it was first offered to Atif Aslam and meant to be recorded in Dubai, which proved to be a difficult task. The song then went to Arijit Singh who let it go because of his busy schedule. After auditioning a number of Bollywood singers, when nothing seemed to work out, Shree D thought of recording the song himself and pitching it to the producers, who liked his rendition so much that they decided to go ahead with it.

Shree D says, “I’m lucky to get this song. It’s very close to my heart and I think it’s custom-made for me to sing because I have written the lyrics as well... So, I knew the real feel of the track.” The Ishq Da Keeda (Bheja Fry 2) singer adds that he was happy to associate with IshQ all over again after Besharam. IshQ says, “Shree is an amazing singer and it’s a pleasure to work with him again on this track. We did approach a few other singers but it didn’t work out. Guess the song was made for Shree D.”
