Shraddha Kapoor to team up with Kartik Aaryan for Dinesh Vijan's next rom-com

Last year, Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut Raabta had Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon paired on screen for the first time. The filmmaker is planning a fresh onscreen jodi for his next movie as well.

Says a source, “After the super success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik and Dinu met several times before finally zeroing down on the script to collaborate on. Kartik has already signed the film which is a rom-com, helmed by Marathi director Laxman Utekar who has been the DOP (director of photography) on Bollywood films like 102 Not Out, Hindi Medium and Dear Zindagi.”

Along with Kartik, the team was also looking to cast the leading lady opposite him. And their search has finally ended. As our source reveals, “Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in to play Kartik’s romantic interest in the film. The team wanted a heroine from the younger lot and Dinesh, who’s already working with Shraddha in his next production, Stree, met her to discuss the new film. She liked the idea but is yet to sign on the dotted line”

The untitled film is expected to go on floors later this year after Stree and Shraddha’s other movie, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, release.
