Crime master Gogo is going gourmet for his fans! Shakti Kapoor is all set to turn a restaurateur with his first eatery, cleverly called Aaoo Lolita, harking back to his famed catchphrase in the Sridevi-Jitendra-starrer Tohfa (1984).

Double celebrations

The flagship restaurant launches on Shakti’s birthday on September 3 in Dehradun. Shakti says, “What’s better than having a double celebration?” The restaurant will be a place for his fans who love food and clubbing. It will combine royalty and club culture, the actor says. The venture is in partnership with Tushar Kumar, the owner of Food and Entertainment City in Dehradun.

Across India

Shakti will be bringing it to Delhi and finally, Mumbai. “It’s a huge plan and I’m excited about it. It’s got hookah, a bar and will have Continental and Indian food,” the actor says. The venture is Shakti’s brainchild and will also have a toy store called Crime Master Gogo (named after his Andaz Apna Apna character) that will stock figurines and memorabilia of some of the characters he has played in films so far.

A family holiday too

The birthday celebrations and restaurant launch will also be a big family holiday for the actor. “Apart from my family, my sisters-in-law, Padmini and Tejaswini Kolhapure and their families will also be joining me.” The family plans to take off to Mussourie after the launch in Dehradun where they will be staying at Shakti’s house.
