Updated : Oct 03, 2018, 05:56 PM IST
You can trust Twitterati to bring out skeletons from people's closet, anytime and anywhere. In a recent interaction with media, when Shakti Kapoor was asked to comment on Tanushree Dutta's sexual harassment allegations against Nana Patekar, the actor chose to laugh the matter off, stating that the incident took place 10 years ago and that he was a kid back then. “I don’t know anything about this case. This was 10 years back, I was a kid back then," the 66-year-old said.

Moments after the video got released on the web, people flocked to Twitter to remind Shakti of his 2005 sex-scandal. A few even asked if he would have had the same stance if it would have been his daughter Shraddha Kapoor, in Tanushree's place.
Kisko puchh rahe ho ? Head master hai wo harassment k school ka

He forgot to add "naughty" kid! He must be quite apprehensive for himself!

Lol.... asking Shakti Kapoor about casting couch (once himself was caught red handedly involved in casting couch)

Media, please stop asking everyone for their opinion about Tanushree Dutta's matter. Or at least ask to sensible person and not like Shakti.
In 2004, 4 years before he was "a kid", Shakti Kapoor was judging a reality show on Zee called "Item Girl". I was on my first job then & cudnt believe how openly he pawed women & spoke of tits & ass. This behaviour was profitable once. https://t.co/QiZcC7SWFX #TanushreeDutta https://t.co/Iwqp1qJTey

he looks rapists from his face .... Waiting for some maid or junior artist to come forward to complaint against him for his crime against them .

this is funny and also stupid. But then what else to expect from him? It's like osama being asked to condemn a terrorist attack

I don't have an issue with Shakti Kapoor statement but the laugh that followed thereafter...

We are a very intolerant society. Deeply rotten. https://t.co/08nM4roCeV
Whichever reporter asked this question to Shakti Kapoor needs a high-five. Hold men accountable. And then see the lies and cowardice that comes spilling out of their creepy mouths. https://t.co/QzlfhmYDKW

Didn't expected this from a father whose daughter is part of same industry as Tanushree. May this never happens to any other, but what if Tanushree was his daughter? Same shameless reply then also ??

This piece from 2012 lists allegations against Shakti Kapoor, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Madhur Bhandarkar. More forgotten allegations here with a very telling last line: https://t.co/13H41IfTuP https://t.co/WyMAxNNLoh

What better reaction you can expect from notorious Shakti Kapoor, he must be scared if someone will follow ‘me too’ against him. Shaktiji at least think being a father of actor daughter. #TanushreeDutta #NanaPatekar

For the uninitiated, India TV had done an explosive sting operation in 2005 where a female journalist posed as an upcoming Bollywood starlet and exposed Shakti. The tape saw him prepositioning the correspondent and asking her for sexual favours. While debates around violating someone's privacy were doing the rounds, Shakti Kapoor in the end found no escaping as he got banned from the industry for quite a while.
Post the sting operation several actors and directors, including Preity Zinta, Subhash Ghai, openly spoke against Shakti and his 'indecent behaviour'. "I am happy to be part of the industry but feel that one dirty fish spoils the whole pond. He is truly a real life villain and deserves to be banned from our film industry as there is no place for him here," Pretty had said.
Earlier in 2004, Shakti was made the judge of an 'Item Bomb' hunt, where he had to look for a woman who would shake her booty with Sanjay Dutt in an item number for Sanjay Gupta's film 'Musafir'.
"The industry knows me as someone who always has a pretty woman in his life. My image is widely known... there isn't a better person to judge whether a woman is a bomb or not," Shakti had then said in a statement, as per a report in The Hindu.
When asked what was the quality he was actually looking for, Shakti had said, "A bomb must ooze sex. I'm looking for t*** and a**."
