Tara Sutaria, who will make her Bollywood debut with Student Of The Year 2, has already landed herself another plum project. She will be seen in the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. While Shahid Kapoor will play the titular role, the newbie will portray his love interest. The film revolves around a hot-headed medical student — Arjun Reddy — and the heartbreak that he faces due to his actions. In the original film, which released last year, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda was the protagonist, while Shalini Pandey essayed the female lead. Sandeep Reddy Vanga who directed the original will helm the remake, too.

While Shahid had announced his association with the film by sharing a selfie with the makers on May 11, the hunt for an actress to be paired opposite him was still on. Says a source, “The leading lady had to be someone who looked innocent and vulnerable as that was the need of the character. Tara is perfect for the role. The film is expected to go on floors this July.”

KNOWING TARA

Apart from being a trained dancer, the 22-year-old is also a qualified singer and a sketch artist. Says the source, “Tara has been singing since she was seven years old. In fact, she has even lent her voice for films like Taare Zameen Par and Guzaarish.” Most kids probably know her as Vinita ‘Vinnie’ Mishra from The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir, a sitcom on Disney Channel, India, which was an Indian adaptation of the American show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

On the personal front, Tara is rumoured to be dating late actor Vinod Mehra’s son Rohan, who will begin his Bollywood innings with Baazaar, which also stars Saif Ali Khan and Chitrangda Singh.
