Shahid Kapoor embraced fatherhood back in 2016 with his first-born daughter Misha Kapoor. The actor is a protective father and this side of his was something which fans were excited to see. Last year, in the month of September, Shahid and Mira Rajput welcomed their second baby, a boy and named him Zain Kapoor. Since then, on multiple occasions, Shahid shares his cute and adorable moments with his two kids.

Now, during an interaction with Filmfare, Shahid spoke at length about being a dad to Misha and Zain. He stated, "I was pretty self-oriented till I became a parent. Though I believed I was selfless. But when I became a parent, I realised I was actually damn selfish. Now I don’t put myself first. You end up thinking about your kids and family first. Sometimes it’s nice. Sometimes it’s frustrating because you do need to put yourself first at times. Every individual needs to have their own breathing space. I struggle with it."

He concluded by saying, "I respect my parents a lot more today than I did before I was a parent. Now I understand what all they did for me. I don’t know if it’s too late for me to apologise but through Filmfare, I say, 'Mom and dad, sorry for all those times I was a prick'"

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid's last outing Kabir Singh has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2019 with crossing Rs 300 crore mark at the box office.
