Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake to release on June 21, 2019

Shahid Kapoor’s remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy now has a release date. T-Series has announced that the film will be released on June 21, 2019.

The film is a remake of the 2017 Arjun Reddy, which told the story of a surgeon who becomes an alcoholic and a drug-addict when his girlfriend gets married to someone else. The film showcases his downfall and ultimate resurgence till….well, let’s not spoil the story for you. Shahid Kapoor will play the titular role, portrayed in the original by Vijay Deverakonda. The movie was successful upon release, with Deverakonda’s performance receiving praise. If anyone can pull this off, it’s Shahid.

The film will be directed by Sandeep Vanga, the director of the original, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde. The movie goes on floors in August 2018. The film is also being remade in Tamil, titled Varma.
