Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, on Friday, revealed the name of his newborn son through social networking site Twitter. Thanking everyone for their warm wishes, he wrote, “Zain Kapoor is here and we feel complete. Thank you for all the wishes and blessings. We are overjoyed and so grateful. Love to all.”
Going into the etymology, 'Zain' finds its origins in Hebrew, English and Arabic languages. It's a masculine name which means 'grace and beauty' in Arabic. Hebrew's special connection to number seven makes Zain a great choice for a boy born on the seventh day of the month or seventh month of the year. In Shahid and Mira's case, however, the name was announced on day 7 of September.
Urban Dictionary defines the word 'Zain' something like this: "A great guy who has many secrets but is close to so many people. While he can be stubborn he is right most of the time and the world is not the same when he is not there. He is also a great person to be around and makes everything brighter. He is very funny and has a lot to say but always thinks before he speaks (mostly)"
Mira Rajput gave birth to their baby boy on Wednesday night at Mumbai's Hinuja Hospital. Shahid's brother Ishaan Khatter, mother Neelima Azim visited Mira the same day. While 'big sister' Misha Kapoor got to meet her baby brother only on Thursday evening. Shahid's father Pankaj Kapoor and his wife Supriya Pathak also paid a visit to the hospital.
“I am very delighted that a new bundle of joy has come to our house. A baby being born in any house is a matter of sheer joy and excitement. Similarly, it is a moment of joy for our family and as the grandfather of the newborn, I am delighted and very proud of my family. I wish Shahid and Mira all the very best and many congratulations,” Pankaj Kapoor told Republic TV in a statement.
Shahid's mother Neelima Azim told Mumbai Mirror, “My dearest elder son’s family is now complete... Misha (Shahid and Mira’s two-year-old daughter) has got a brother and Ishaan (son of Neelima Azim and Rajesh Khattar) has got a nephew now. I’m a hands-on grandmother with Misha and since I’ve had two boys of my own, being with the new member of the family will come naturally to me.”
Earlier in an interview with Mid-Day, when asked whether Misha is ready to welcome a younger sibling, Shahid had said, “With a two-year-old, you can’t tell them too much and at the same time, you can’t surprise them completely. So we make subtle mentions because kids are really absorbent. They learn from looking at things around. She is aware of the change without us having had a conversation with her.”
