Ted Talks India: Why did Shah Rukh Khan apologise to Mithali Raj?

On Tuesday, Shah Rukh Khan shot an episode of his TV show, Ted Talks —India, with Karan Johar and Mithali Raj, the captain of the women’s cricket team. However, both SRK and Karan were running late as a result of which the shoot was delayed by three-four hours. A source from the sets says that Shah Rukh, like the true gentleman he is, made it a point to go up to Mithali and apologise to her for the delay before they shot for the episode. “He met Mithali and informed her about the reason for coming late. He also helped her prep for her speech that she was going to deliver on stage and ensured she was comfortable. Only after that they started the shoot.” The theme for both Karan and  Mithali’s talk was: Changing relationships.

The Forbes’ list of the highest paid actors in the world is out and three Bollywood stars — Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar — rank among the top 10. While SRK is at number eight with $38 million (Rs 243.50 cr), Salman made $37 million (Rs 237 cr) and Akshay took home $35.5 million (Rs 227.5 cr).  Mark  Wahlberg, who is the year’s highest paid actor, earned an estimated $68 million. According to Forbes, the top 10 actors banked a cumulative $488.5 million–nearly three times the $172.5 million combined total of the 10 top-earning women.
