Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's viral throwback picture is all about old-school romance

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have always been the OG couple of Bollywood, the Jay-Z and Beyonce, the reigning king and queen. Their longstanding relationship, happy family life and excellent work ethic make them a power couple for the ages. So it’s understandable why this picture of Shah Rukh and Gauri from the early days is quickly taking the internet by storm.

Shah Rukh and Gauri first met at a party when Shah Rukh was just 18 and hadn’t made his Bollywood debut. The rest, as they say, is history. The two dated for quite a while before they finally tied the knot in 1991. Now, the two are living successful lives of the rich and famous and have three children, AbRam, Aryan and Suhana Khan.

The throwback shot is probably as old as it can get, it’s in black and white after all. The picture shows Shah Rukh in a white shirt, a printed waistcoat and an oversized pair of pants just staring happily at the cameras. Gauri, meanwhile, looks every bit as young and alluring as she does now, wearing a little dress and talking to someone off camera. The love between the two is apparent, as you can see them holding hands despite their attentions being elsewhere. Try not to ‘aww’ at this moment.

On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently working on Aanand L. Rai’s Zero, also starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, where he plays a dwarf who falls in love with a famous superstar. The movie releases in theatres no December 21, 2018.
