'Scam 1992' actor Nikhil Dwivedi tests postive for COVID-19

Actor and producer Nikhil Dwivedi has tested positive for COVID-19. The producer said that he was asymptomatic barring loss of taste. Nikhil underwent a precautionary check-up and his coronavirus test result has come positive.

He is quarantined at home currently. Nikhil confirmed the diagnosis with Times of India and said, "Yes, I have tested positive for coronavirus." 

On the other hand, his wife Gouri is doing better and has tested negative for the virus. 

Nikhil recently made a big comeback to acting with Hansal Mehta’s acclaimed web series, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story after previously producing films likes Veere Di Wedding and Dabangg 3. 

In an interview with Hindustan Times, he spoke about his acting hiatus, and said, "I was not offered good work. It was as simple as that. When Scam 1992 was offered, I felt it was something I could sign in spite of my function of being a producer. Had I been offered good work earlier, I would have still been acting. I was forced to turn to production because I had to do something."

Nikhil had grabbed headlines recently after his September tweet had gone viral where he had said that he would love to work with Rhea Chakraborty in the future while extending the actor support. 

Nikhil explained his tweet and the reason behind it in an interview and said, "I said that actually as a form of protest. I truly believe that you are innocent until proven guilty. The guilt of any crime can only be proved by institutions which have been formed by the Constitution - law enforcement agencies and really speaking, the court of law. You and I cannot decide anybody’s criminality. It is wrong. I saw judgments being pronounced on her."
