Sanya Malhotra signs Churiyan

After Hrs was the first to tell you that Vishal Bhardwaj and KriArj Entertainment are producing a two-heroine project on sibling rivalry.

Titled Churiyan, the film which was earlier supposed to go on the floors later this year, was brought ahead after Vishal’s directorial venture got delayed. Churiyan will now go on the floors this April.

Girl locked!

The film, which is about two sisters and their issues, will have Sanya Malhotra playing one of the leads. Says a source, “Vishal was in talks with a few actresses. But he finally zeroed in on Sanya. He had liked her performance in Dangal and right after the first meeting with her, he had decided that he would want her to be a part of the film. Sanya, who has signed the film, will play the younger sibling in it.” The actress is currently shooting for her second Bollywood film opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.

No Fatima

Recently, Vishal had tweeted over reports of Sanya and Fatima Sana Shaikh reuniting for his film. He had called the news baseless. The source adds, “Fatima is not even in contention for the role of the older sibling. They are in talks with a few actresses already. As of now, only Sanya has been locked in for the film.”
