In midst of promotion for his comeback film Bhoomi, actor Sanjay Dutt was spotted performing shraadh puja at the Rani Ghat of Varanasi.

According to IANS report, Dutt travelled to Varanasi in a chartered plane and drove to Rani Ghat where he performed the ritual.  The ritual is considered auspicious during the ongoing 15-day period of shraadh, right before the Navratra celebrations begin. Eight Brahmins performed the puja and helped Sanjay Dutt do the pind daan - a ritual performed to bring salvation to departed souls among Hindus. The 58-year-old actor spoke to the media and said, "My father had expressed the wish that his shraadh be performed in Varanasi after I become a free man.It was important for me do pind daan to fulful my father's last wish"

Sunil Dutt was Sanju baba's pillar of strength during his legal battle and he died of a sudden heart attack in 2005 at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. After completing his jail term, Sanjay Dutt became a free man in February last year and now is busy with films once again. After wrapping up post production work for his much-awaited film Bhoomi, Sanju baba will be immediately getting into the first schedule of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 post release. Post that, the actor also has 'Torbaaz' and 'Malang' waiting for him. Reports also sugest that actor will also begin shooting for the third film in Munnabhai franchise. It is going to be a rigorous year as the actor will be shooting back to back for films and will be juggling between projects.
