Sanjay Dutt is singer Supriyaa Paathak’s music adviser

Supriyaa Paathak was in for a big surprise when she received praise for her singing from Sanjay Dutt. The playback singer, who has crooned Baba Bolta Hain Bas Ho Gaya in Sanju, has another track for composer Vikram Montrose for an upcoming film starring Sanjay, which she cannot disclose the name of. 

“I was speechless for a few seconds when Vikram handed the phone to Baba (Sanjay). He said good things about my singing,” Supriyaa says. The Bhoomi actor has been in regular touch with her, and has also been advising her. “Baba is exposed to world music and is extremely knowledgeable. He recommends me artistes and tracks to listen to, and asks me to prepare in a certain way. He is quite particular about the music of his movies,” adds Supriyaa. 

Since Sanjay has himself lent his voice to Bollywood songs in the past (M Bole Toh and Apun Jaise Tapori in Munnabhai MBBS and Jai Mata Di in Bhoomi recently), one can expect a collaboration from the two, Supriyaa tells us. “There is a single, which is a light romantic song. My vocals are already recorded but Sanjay sir has been saying that he will sing it after doing riyaaz. Hope it happens soon,” she concludes.
