Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat is set to be the Eid release of this year. The much-awaited flick will be hitting the screens on June 5, 2019. An interesting fact is that India's World Cup 2019 opening match also happens to be on the same day as that of the release. Which means, we have to wait and watch to see if Bharat rakes in the biggest opening for 2019, or it will suffer due to the huge fan base for cricket.

During an interaction with BollywoodLife, the co-producer of Bharat, Atul Agnihotri was asked about the epic clash that will be witnessed on Eid. To which he stated, "Nowadays, people have access to new information on the phone every 5 minutes. I am also a cricket fan but a movie buff is a movie buff. We have an intended Eid release and we are catering to the audience who look forward to that. Both Cricket and Bollywood are religion in India, so it will be fine. If Bharat works as per what we have thought, it will definitely pass every test."

Talking about the film, Bharat is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is an adaptation of 2014's South Korean film titled Ode to My Father. Apart from Salman and Katrina, Bharat also stars Tabu, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Grover, Aasif Sheikh, Sonali Kulkarni, Disha Patani and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles. The film is co-produced by Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.
