In one of the biggest announcements, three of the leading production houses Salman Khan Films, Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films are all set to come together to bring Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's documentary titled 'Angry Young Men'. Both the stalwarts are two of the most celebrated writers of the country.

Directed by Namrata Rao, the documentary will be produced as a joint venture under three banners respectively spearheaded by Salman Khan (Salim's son) (Salman Khan Films), Farhan Akhtar (Javed's son) and Ritesh Sidhwani (Excel Entertainment), Zoya Akhtar (Javed's daughter) and Reema Kagti (Tiger Baby Films). The project will capture the magic of the era that Salim-Javed, together created.

For the uninitiated, Salim-Javed are noted for being the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status, becoming the most successful Indian screenwriters of all time, who revolutionized Indian cinema in the 1970s, transforming and reinventing the Bollywood formula and pioneering the Bollywood blockbuster format.

After teaming up in the 70s, the duo split up in the 1980s. Their last works together as screenwriters include Zamana (1985) and Mr India (1987).

Soon after that, Javed went on to become a successful lyricist who still pens songs for Bollywood films. Their blockbuster works include 'Sholay' (1975), 'Seeta Aur Geeta' (1972), 'Zanjeer' (1973), 'Deewaar' (1975), 'Kranti' (1981) among many others.

Meanwhile, this will also mark the professional collaboration of Salman with Akhtar siblings Farhan and Zoya. They have been successful actors and filmmakers individually.
