In the last few years, Saif Ali Khan has made some interesting choices that haven’t fared well at the box office. Whether it’s Phantom, Rangoon or Kaalakaandi, all his films were from different genres. However, the star hasn’t attempted comedy in a long time.

Saif reasons, “I would love to do a comedy at this moment. I have done my share of dramatic, arty stuff. I guess it will be great if a good fun film comes along. Even I have been thinking about it, actually.” Ask him if there’s some development on that front and he confirms, “Yes, I have been in talks with Luv Ranjan for a comedy.”

Luv, who recently hit a home run with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety crossing the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office, is also known for the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise. But Saif is quick to add, “We haven’t finalised the movie yet. It’s a comedy, in which I play a father. He is still working it out, so it’s too early to say anything. But we are definitely doing it.”

Incidentally, the filmmaker is also doing a movie with Saif’s brother-in-law Ranbir Kapoor. On the other hand, the Nawab of Pataudi is currently busy shooting for Navdeep Singh’s revenge war saga The Hunter and will start filming the second season of Sacred Games this September. The actor reveals that they are planning the sequel to Go Goa Gone, too. “We have got an idea, but the team is still writing it. We plan to start Go Goa Gone 2 next year. It will also be in that fun, comedy space,” he signs off.
