Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati release date being deferred from December 1 seems to have a never-ending impact on Bollywood. While Kapil Sharma's 'Firangi'released a week later than it's original plan, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha starrer 'Fukrey Returns' decided to come a week early and now we hear that it could also affect the release date of Saif Ali Khan's 'Kaalakaandi'

The film which already had it's share of tiff with Censor Board and delays will now hit theatres on January 12th. But according to Mid-Day report, the lead star Saif Ali Khan said there could be change in plans due to Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer.

Going back to doing his favourite genre of dark comedy, Saif wants to avoid clashing with Padmavati at the box-office. He told Mumbai daily, "If Padmavati comes in, we will think of shifting our release date. I hope we don't have to do that. Kaalakaandi is a film I am proud of," says Khan.

All Bollywood filmmakers try their best to avoid a clash and Saif understands why makers of Kaalakaandi are not keen to release the film on the some day as Bhansali's magnum opus. "It would have been nice to see Kaalakaandi releasing with Padmavati, as it shows that we have a film industry, which makes different kinds of movies. Recently, we saw Secret Superstar and Golmaal Again releasing on the same day and both films did well. Personally, I feel it's a good time to have films releasing alongside one another. But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration."

Considering the fate of his last few releases including 'Chef', may be it's best that his film with Akshat Varma avoids any clash at the box-office.

Just as the lyrics of George Michael song goes 'I Gotta Have Faith', Nawab of Pataudi said,  "It's easy to think that people no longer want to see me in a film. But I don't do that. I get my confidence back every time, irrespective of whether my film works or not. I'll keep working and hopefully, things will fall into place."

On personal front, Saif Ali Khan and begum Kareena Kapoor Khan are busy preparing for their little munchkin Taimur's first birthday on December 20th.
