Sachin: A Billion Dreams has a fantastic weekend at box office, mints Rs 27.85 crore!

Never ever has there been this amount of craze and hype over a docu drama. Yes, Sachin Tendulkar took the route less travelled when he decided to share the unspoken mysteries and episodes of his life with his fans.

The former cricketer,  also fondly Called God of Indian cricket by fans and followers worldwide was ushered with a thunderous response at the box office as well.  The docu drama on the life of the master blaster released on Friday and the film has been setting cash registers ablaze.

Post Baahubali 2, it was only Arjun Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend which worked decently at the BO. All other films fizzled out whereas Hindi Medium too grew from strength to strength. Now,  Sachin - A Billion Dreams too is working fantastically well at the ticket counters. It has also recorded the highest ever opening weekend collections for any film in this genre.

Since it's a docu drama and not a typical mainstream Hindi film with a leading A lister actor, comparing this film's collections to any other film would be completely pointless. Nevertheless,  the film managed to rake in over Rs 8 crore on its first day, added another Rs 9.20 crore on Saturday.  On Sunday, the film again grew and netted Rs 10.25 crore. In the first three days itself, the film has amassed over Rs 27.85 crore which is great.
