The sequel to Karan Johar's 2012 film Student of The Year is a much anticipated one as the names of a number of star kids are attached to the film. While SOTY launched Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in Bollywood, speculations about who will be launched in its sequel by KJo's Dharma Productions have been rife for the longest time.
Initial reports had suggested that Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan would mark her acting debut with SOTY 2. Later on, it was reported that Disha Patani will be playing Tiger Shroff's leading lady in the film.
However, fresh rumours of Sridevi's daughter Janvi Kapoor contesting for the role also emerged sometime later. Now, looks like none of the above three beauties would be seen in SOTY 2. If a SpotboyE report is to be believed, then it's Chunky Pandey's daughter Ananya, who has been quietly finalised for Student of The Year 2. Though the report does stress on the uncertain state of affairs when it comes to the tinsel town, but it almost confirms that Ananya has been roped in for the film.
Until recently, it was almost certain that Sara will be finalised for the project but then she opted for Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput whereas Janvi Kapoor gave a thumbs up to the Sairat remake with Ishaan Khatter. So that leaves only Ananya in the race as Disha Patani's name was already out from the league sometime ago.
Recently, Chunky had told the media, "Yes, Ananya wants to be an actress and she had informed me about her decision sometime ago. Be it Ahaan or Ananya, I want the kids to create their own identity and be a brand in their own right." Several reports also suggested that 18-year-old Ananya started gearing up for her Bollywood debut right after her graduation, with Salman Khan playing her mentor. Reportedly, she has been training under celebrity fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala, and has been taking acting and dancing classes as well.
