Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan Kunder shared exciting news earlier thie year. The announced to be on board for the remake of Satte Pe Satta. The original film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in lead roles with Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sudhir, Inderjeet, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan, Mac Mohan and Kalpana Iyer in pivotal roles.

Farah Khan Kunder and Rohit Shetty's search for the cast still goes on. Names like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar made rounds of the internet. It however appears that they found Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan to reprise roles played by Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini from the cult film. 

A source told Pinkvilla, "Both Farah and Rohit wanted Deepika Padukone in the movie because not only do they love her but she fits the role to the T. When DP debuted, everyone felt she had an uncanny resemblance to Hema ji in terms of her beauty as well. When Farah narrated the story to DP, she loved it and instantly gave her nod."

Deepika Padukone began her Bollywood career with Farah Khan Kunder's movie Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The actress went on to be paired with the superstar yet again in Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express apart from Farah's Happy New Year. It would however be the first time that Hrithik Roshan teams up with the filmmakers.
