Rs 400 crore and counting! 'Padmaavat' is on a RECORD BREAKING spree at the worldwide box office

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat is shattering records one after another at the box office worldwide. The film that stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the leads has already crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the global box office, thanks to it's impeccable run at both the domestic as well as overseas ticket windows. 

 

A report on BollywoodLife suggests that Padmaavat has collected a whopping sum of Rs 423.50 crore including the total domestic and overseas collections. The film has reportedly managed to rake in Rs 138 crore in the international market and has grossed Rs 285 crore in India (including Rs 219.50 crore net at the box office). 

The film has given Ranveer and Shahid their highest grosser while it has become the second highest grosser for its leading lady Deepika, after Chennai Express. Padmaavat is further expected to cross the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office by the end of this week. 

 

The film also stars Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari along with Raza Murad in significant roles. It is based on the poem of the same name, written by Sufi saint Malik Muhammed Jayasi.
