Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmaavat has scored a double century at the domestic box-office. The film earned 212.50 crores to become the highest grossing film for Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh but their fans are still waiting to watch the film in Rajasthan.

Interestingly, Jodhpur is going to be the first city in the state to allow a screening of Bhansali film but only for four members in the audience which includes High Court judge Justice Sandeep Mehta and staff members as per IANS report.  After watching the film, the court will make its decision while hearing the petition filed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actress Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for cancellation of the FIR against them.  FIR was lodged by Virendra Singh and Nagpal Singh, who alleged that the film distorted "historical facts" and "hurt the image of Rani Padmini" in Nagaur last year.

The lawyer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali had applied for cancellation of the FIR at the Jodhpur High Court. In the previous hearing, the High Court had given the order to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lawyer to make arrangement for screening of film. During the hearing on Friday, Bhansali’s lawyers Ravi Bhansali and Nishant Boda informed justice Sandeep Mehta that they are ready to screen the movie on Saturday. On this, Justice Mehta asked him whether the film will be screened at the judicial academy or in any cinema. The lawyers urged the court to watch the movie in a cinema hall because the resolution of the film will not be good at the judicial academy.

IANS stated that Justice Mehta had observed, "This court is of the firm opinion that the screening of the movie is essential for securing the ends of justice." The petitioner gave his consent to screen the film for the court. The first ever screening for Padmaavat will happen at Inox Mall in the city at 8 p.m. under high security. A special password has been given to the hall owners to make sure that there is only one show organised for the film. A hundred police personnel have been deputed in and around the cinema hall.

Meanwhile, Lokendra Singh Kalvi had earlier said his group Karni Sena is still opposed to the film and the "janta curfew" it has imposed at movie theatres will continue. "There were two issues: one related with faith and the other with history. The filmmaker has made changes to the film to respect the faith of the Rajput community but distortion of historic facts is still there in the film," he told reporters at a separate press conference. He said the protest has not been withdrawn. However, Kalvi clarified the group will not oppose the special screening of the film at a theatre in Jodhpur.
