Here's the truth...
Speculations about Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's impending wedding have been rife in tinsel town for quite sometime now. Especially, after Anushka Sharma got married to beau Virat Kohli in a hush hush ceremony last December, rumours of DP's wedding with Ranveer too started gaining momentum. Recent reports even suggested that since Deepika is unwell, she's making the most of her free time by shopping for her wedding trousseau with her mother and sister. But nothing can be confirmed as of now.
Recently reports started doing the rounds that Ranveer happened to reveal in one of his interviews with a magazine that he and DP can't tie the knot this year. Addressing the rumours of their marriage, Ranveer apparently told Spice Route magazine, "It is the function of speculation – to exist. Nothing is official till it is made official and I am not a seer. I cannot say this will happen on this date in the future. Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is any announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops.”
This is as per the recently published interview in the magazine. However, turns out that the quotes taken for the interview are from an extremely dated interview of the actor. In fact, Ranveer's spokesperson confirmed:
"This is to clarify that the Ranveer Singh’s interview carried by Spice Route Magazine in their April 2018 issue is an extremely dated one.
The journalist in question has written her piece using Ranveer’s quotes from a series of events that were attended by him namely - the GQ awards in Mumbai on 22nd September 2017, Adidas in Mumbai - 21st November 2017 and another Adidas event in Delhi on 10th December 2017.
The interview has now been published in April 2018, therefore, becoming completely dated since the journalist did not speak to Ranveer recently."
On the work front, Ranveer is currently busy wrapping up tha final portions of his next with Zoya AKhtar titled Gully Boy. The actor will be seen teaming up with Alia Bhatt for the first time in a film. Previously, the duo has done a few TVCs for a travel based company.
