Rakul Preet Singh has filed a petition in Delhi High Court after her and Sara Ali Khan's name was linked in Sushant Singh Rajput case
Rakul Preet Singh's name was recently linked to Sushant Singh Rajput case. The actor, according to reports, was one of the names Rhea Chakraborty took during her probe with the Narcotics Control Bureau.
It was reported that Rhea Chakraborty named Rakul, Sara Ali Khan, designer Simone Khambatta, Sushant Singh Rajput friend and former manager Rohini Iyer, and the actor's 'Dil Bechara' director Mukesh Chhabra. According to another report, NCB had refused to take an names saying they have not yet shortlisted on people.
Rakul had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court after her name was linked to the case. The court has further asked the state government, NCB and Press Council to present a proper explanation about the reports.
In her petition, Rakul had stated that the high court should ask the Information and Bureau Ministry to stop the media trial, which began after her name was linked to the case.
It also read that the actress received the news about her and Sara Ali Khan's name being linked to the case, while she was on the sets, shooting for a project.
She alleged that the media broke the news without clarifying the truth. The petition also read that the media had been harassing her since the news broke.
The NCB is currently investigating the drugs angle in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. They made big arrests from Mumbai and Goa, and have suspected a possible link in the Bollywood industry too.
Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda and main help Dipesh Sawant were among the first to be under NCB custody. Other drug peddlers and smugglers are also arrested after their names came up during the investigations.
Rhea has allegedly accepted her role in procuring drugs for Sushant more than once. Her bail application was rejected recently, and the agency is still probing her for more details in the case.
Sushant Singh Rajput died under mysterious circumstances on June 14, 2020. Among the various angle, the drug angle in the case is currently the most highlighted.
