Rajkumar Santoshi forges new ties

Rajkumar Santoshi, who once had a place of pride as a prolific and passionate filmmaker, has been completely out of form for years now. A trade source says, “These days, he’s considered more of a proposal-maker because he announces movies with Bollywood superstars and doesn’t necessarily make them. Two recent examples are his announcements with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn.’’

Over the last weekend, he threw a party to announce a new partnership and his project with Randeep Hooda, which is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. The film, which introduces Yami Gautam’s sister Surilie Jasraj Singh, has been moving in fits and starts.

Raj’s two favourites, Bobby Deol and Tusshar were spotted at the party along with a few writer sorts.

Let’s hope with the moneybags that he has found, Raj also finds a new enthusiasm to bounce back and do what he originally did best — make more and more movies.
