A Mumbai Court on Friday sent actor Shilpa Shetty`s husband and businessman Raj Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe to police custody till July 27 in connection with a case related to the production of pornographic films.
Mumbai Police on Friday produced actor Shilpa Shetty`s husband and businessman Raj Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe before Magistrate Court seeking further custody for seven days. Mumbai Police told the Court that they suspect money earned from pornography was used for online betting.
"This is why transactions between Raj Kundra`s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated," Mumbai Police told the Court.
Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly creating pornographic films and publishing them through some mobile applications on Monday night.
The Mumbai Crime Branch is now considering an online betting angle in the shocking case of pornography involving Raj Kundra, according to a new report. Adult films have been found from the app HotShots, and sanbox has been seized.
Police is investigating a deal between Raj Kundra and a dealer involving 19 adult films. Officials from the Crime Branch informed the court that they believe money made from porn was used in online betting. Kundra's laptop was confiscated, with 48 TB of data and 51 adult movies found.
The accountant's statement of Viaan Industries was recorded by the police, and he stated that between 4000 and 10,000 pounds were spent every month. Raj Kundra was given the vouchers and bills. In addition, the IT developer's statement has been recorded so far.
