Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz starrer Raid has hit the theatres this week. Though, the film did not have immense buzz before its release, the film managed to open in double digits on it's first Friday. On day one, Raid has raked in a total of Rs 10.4 crore at the domestic box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share that the film saw an ordinary start on Friday morning but post noon, it showed a huge jump in its collections. He also added that the evening and night shows also recorded superb growth in the numbers.

Here's what he tweeted:

The film is based on a true incident and narrates the tale of the longest Income Tax raid that was conducted in the year 1981 in Lucknow. Considering that the film is not a masala entertainer and based on real life events, with no scope for an item song or high-octane action sequences, the numbers seem pretty impressive.

A positive word of mouth from the audience and the good reviews by the critics may help the Ajay Devgn film to see substantial growth in its numbers on Saturday and Sunday. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid boasts of a stellar star cast. In addition to Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz, Saurabh Shukla packs a punch with his commendable performance in the film.
