R Balki to receive Raj Kapoor Award

Ad man-filmmaker R Balki, whose film Pad Man on the subject of menstrual hygiene is currently notching up headlines, is the chosen one. We heard that he will be given the Raj Kapoor Award on February 14 at a function to be held at a suburban five-star hotel in Mumbai.

Our source says that the award is a first and it is the initiative of the trust founded by the American philanthropist-couple Bill and Melinda Gates. We hear the Kapoor family is expected to attend the sit-down formal affair as are other important people from various walks of life. Kudos to Balki!
